Governors Camp nestles in the forest alongside the winding banks of the Mara River – its waters teeming with hippo and crocodile – in the heart of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.  Elephant and warthog may wander through camp and hippos come out of the river to graze at night.

There are 37 East African style luxury safari tents with double or twin beds, together with a special honeymoon suite.  Some of the tents line the river bank whilst others have views over the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Each tent is well appointed with an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and wash hand basin.

Guests enjoy meals in a central dining area where breakfast and lunch are served buffet style. Dinner in the evening is eaten by candlelight. The decked bar is right on the river’s edge, the perfect spot to unwind whilst watching wallowing hippos and crocodiles.

On offer here are game drives, walking safaris and hot air balloon safaris.  Excursions to Lake Victoria and visits to Mara Rianta school or to a Maasai village can also be arranged.

WALKING AND CLIMBING
